Today is the day of the cross country race in Hwa Chong. To others, it may not mean anything to them, but to us Hwa Chong students, it is a big event as we are celebrating that the Youth Olympics will be held in Singapore this year!!!

I went to school later than before, knowing that I do need to be at school by 7:20 am. When I arrived there, a few of my schoolmates were already starting to warm-up before the race begins. My hands are all sweaty as I wanted to get at least top 10 in the non-competitive race. With a loud whistle, the race began. I took off with full speed and then gradually slower and slower as I was running up the slope. I was the 3rd in the non-competitive race while the athletes in the competitive race was far ahead of me. I started to sprint. I sprinted and sprinted all the way. Unfortunately, my stamina was beginning to run out. I was exhausted. I couldn't breathe. But I continued, knowing that the end was coming soon.

At last, I saw the ending point, I put away all my tiredness and began to sprint to the ending point. As I whizzed past the line, the teacher approached me and handed me a top 100 badge. I was extremely happy. But I couldn't speak. More good news came, our class came in 2nd among all 15 classes. I was utterly surprised with our spectacular win.

It was like a dream came true...

Quality versus Quantity
Wednesday, February 17, 2010
I was inspired to write on this topic by a secondary 2 senior. He told me not to post so many posts because quality is better than quantity in most circumstances.

Actually, I agree with him. So, I do not need to post so many post. Just joking!

The real reason is: People won't look at how much you do it but how well you do it. When writing an essay, the teacher won't really looks at how many words you write, as long as you reached the minimum amount of words the teacher expect you to write. What the teacher really looks at is the quality of your essay. If your essay is of good quality, you will surely get good grades.

Second example. Your energy doesn't count on the duration you sleep but the quality of your sleep. So, you will notice: whenever someone disturbs you in your sleep, you won't have enough energy the next day.

You must eat food every day. But if you eat an awful lot of junk food, your body will not have enough nutrients. As long as you have the minimum amount of food and of course, quality food, your body will be strong and you will not fall sick easily.

Now you see, there are so many examples to be listed out. Due to lack of time, I will only list out 3 examples of the statement "Quality is better than Quantity in most circumstances".

But the quality of the 3 examples will prove that my statement is absolutely correct!

Last Tuesday, my school organized a school trip to let us learn some living skills.

We boarded a bus and make our way to the Singapore Discovery Center, where we can discover lots of things.

First, the teacher in charge brought us to a small air-conditioned room where a plump lady gave us a speech on defending ourselves. We learnt about Military Defense, Social Defense, Transportation Defense and many more.

The lady then let us see a poster. On that poster, there is a little girl in a bath tub telling us to save water, otherwise the last drops of water will be our tears. And also a poster with a man in a car telling us to follow the traffic regulations.

Later, we went out and was given a card to fill in the blanks. We went to booths that contained information on the answers. Finally, I managed to fill in all the blanks. I brought the card to the prize booth. Much to my surprise, I won the 1st prize. My heart was full of joy because the prize is...a file.

During this study trip, I learnt many important things and ways to defend myself. I wish to attend such events more often in the future.

Ta-daa!! This is the official match between Lamb To The Slaughter, Male Child and Love. In your opinion, which story will be the champion?

To be honest, I will prefer Lamb To The Slayghter. Why?

In LTTS, there are many twists in it, and I love twists. And basically it is because it is like Criminal Minds, a show in TV. It has suspense, such as: Will Mary Maloney die? Will the detectives be able to find out the truth? Will...

So many questions, but at last, no answers. I like a story that has an ending but the ending still haven't solve the questions of the readers, now, that is what I call a sweet and delicious ending!

As for Male Child and Love, the story is very drama-like and it is not at all original. I heard that story in tv shows before. And, I prefer crime show s than love and romance. Haha!!

After a short brief of mine, you will probably want to read the three stories. Well, go ahead and enjoy!
